News Module

Note: For the News Module to display on your site, it must be enabled in the madCMS configuration file.

The News Module automatically generate a simple "Current News" listing on the homepage of your live website.

Each news item has a start date and an end date. News items will automatically display once the start date is reached and cease displaying once the end date is reached.

It is important to note that the start and finish dates will be based on the system date on the hosting webserver, not the local time on your PC. If you are hosting in another country or time zone, you may need to adjust your event's start and finish dates to account for this.

Select the "News" tab on the admin console to see the news currently displayed (if any) on the live website.

Add News

Generally, it's a good idea to keep each news item fairly short, especially if you have a number of news items. As they appear at the top of the home page of your website, if you have a number of very long news items, the main content of you homepage will be pushed a long way down!

A good technique is to have a short news paragraph, with a link to more detailed information on another webpage on your site.

Editing and deleting

Editing and deleting news items are essentially similar to editing or deleting any other content in madCMS.

Remember, there is no undo, so once you delete something, it's gone!
